What is Geek Squad Scam?
The geek squad email scam is a kind of email phishing scam. In this scam, the victim receives mail that contains information regarding a subscription renewal or order that victim or recipients are unaware of it.
Scammers create the replicate of original invoice numbers, renewal dates, and other order details to make the email appear genuine as real as the official one. They use official logos and promotional banners to make the email look legit, ensuring their target believes them.
Furthermore, scammers also add their phone numbers and tell recipients to contact them if they need assistance with their order but that phone number is also fake.
Here is what happens when the victim receives the invoice via mail then the victim got panic and just call the scammers and try to find out more information about the purchase invoice or try to cancel the order.
